We've completed hundreds of solar PV installations in Cambridgeshire – below are just a few of the installs we've completed. As you'll see below, no two jobs are the same. We will always give a choice of panels and inverters, and specify a system that works best for you.

 

madeleine picture small This solar PV installation is opposite our office - so no need for the van on this job as we we carried the 14 Sunrise 195W panels there by hand! We think that the black panels look great on a slate roof. The panels are connected to an Eltek 2800S inverter located in the loft. This system will generate over 2000kWh of electricity per year.
12 Solvis This solar PV installation in Chesterton, Cambridge, comprises 12 Solvis 250W panels connected to an SMA 3000HF inverter. The inverter is connected to the SMA Webbox – so the owner can view what is being generated from anywhere in the world! This installation will generate around 2250kWh per year.
stapleford This PV installation in Stapleford comprises 10 195W Sunrise panels, connected to a Mastervolt XS2000 inverter. Vistit Staplefords Environmental Group's website.
milton This PV installation in Milton comprises 12 Panasonic 250W panels. The panels are connected to an Eltek 2800S located in the garage. The Panasonic panels (previously known as Sanyo) are the most efficient on the market – allowing a larger system to be installed on a limited roof area.
Barrington This solar PV installation in Barrington, Cambridgeshire, consists of 11 190W Eging solar panels. The panels are connected to an SMA inverter.
fulbourn This Solar PV installation in Fulbourn uses 14 240W P6-60 i40 black framed polycrystalline Scheuten solar panels. The panels are connected to an ELtek HEt inverter which is located in a courtyard outside. The HEt range of Eltek inverters are IP65 rated - so can go outdoors. The customer also had a SolarCache installed - allowing the immersion heater to make best use of the electricity available.
caldecote-small Solar panels don't just have to be installed on houses! We installed 16 240W Moser-Baer panels on horse stables in Highfields-Caldecote, Cambridgeshire, they were connected to an Eltek 3800S inverter. The stables are fed power from the main house – so the customer can make good use of the free electricity as well as the horses.
Stapleford This PV installation in Stapleford, Cambridgeshire, comprises 16 Moser Baer 240W panels, connected to a Power-One Aurora PVI 3.6 dual input MPPT inverter. The dual MPPT input allows two separate arrays, with different orientations, to be connected to the same inverter – ideal for houses with two good roof areas.
girton This solar PV installation in Girton comprises 12 Romag Powerglaz 210W panels, connected to a Sunny Boy SB2500 inverter. Romag are a British company, and the panels are manufactured in Durham.
unisolar This PV installation in Cambridge comprises 12 Unisolar Peel n Stick 68W panels stuck onto an EPDM roof. Uni-Solar adhesive backed panels are based on amorphous silicon technology, which gives a better performance at low light levels than conventional crystalline silicon panels. These panels are truly revolutionary - no more bulky aluminium frames, or fragile glass glazing..... just a tough, plastic-coated, flexible panel with a 'peel-and-stick' adhesive backing that bonds to many roofing materials.
2kw cambridge This solar PV installation uses 8 210W British made Romag solar PV panels installed on a rear extension of this terraced house in central Cambridge. The 210W panels are a slightly unusual shape - but make very good use of the available roof space.
4kw cambridge This 4kW installation in the south of Cambridge uses 18 220W Moser Baer solar panel, connected to an Eltek 3800S inverter. We estimated that the panels would generate around 3300kWh per year - which coincidently, is the same amount of energy that the average UK house uses in a year!
completed mb 4kw system This solar PV installation in Newnham, Cambridge comprises 18 220W Moser Baer, connected to a Mastervolt XS4300 inverter. This system will generate approximately 3390kWh per year.
off grid system This 2.28kW Sunny Island off-grid system uses 12 190W panels mounted on an out-building of a farm house. The system will generate around 1570kWh per year. This should be enough to run the farm house in the summer months. In the winter the solar panels are supplemented by a diesel generator to provide enough power. The customer us also looking o harnessing hydro-electric power from a local stream to provide extra power in the winter - hopefully omitting the need for the generator altogether.
peak district This 4kW solar PV installation in the Peak District comprises 21 190W black framed Sunrise solar panels, connected to an Aurora Power One inverter with dual MPPT. The dual MPPT will improve the output of the panels when a few of the panels are shaded by adjacent trees. More details on the effect of shading can be found HERE.
roof integrated

This solar PV installation was completed on Victorian Terraced house in central Cambridge - maintaining the visual integrity of the property.

The system comprises 11 120W Romag Roof Integrated solar panels. Connected to an Ever Solar HF1500 inverter. Roof integrated systems are bit more expensive than conventional systems - but the panels sit flush with the roofing material, making for a sleek look. Roof integrated systems are ideal for new builds and cases where the roof needs replacing.

4kW Solar PV - Melbourn, Royston

This 4kW solar PV installation in Melbourn, just north of Royston, consists of 16 250W black framed Perlight panels, connected to an Eltek 3.8 HE-t inverter located in the garage.

4kW Solar PV - Longstanton, Cambridgeshire

This 4kW solar PV installation in Longstanton, Cambridgeshire, consists of 16 250W Perlight panels, connected to an Eltek 3.8 HE-t inverter located in the loft.

This PV installation in Cambridge comprises 9 250W high efficiency Sanyo panels, connected to an Eltek 2100S string inverter. Due to the available roof space being restricted, the panels were installed on an Arbour at the bottom of the garden. 

 hills road

This PV installation, close Cambridge train station, comprised 8 Solvis 200W panels placed around a Velux window on the front of the property - the unique size of these panels made good use of the available roof space.

In addition to the panels on the front of the property, 6 panels were place on a flat roof to the rear. The two arrays of solar panels were connected to an Aurora Power-One PVI 3.0 inverter with dual MPPT - one MPPT for each array of panels.

This solar PV installation in Cambridge comprises a total a 14 high efficiency Panasonic solar panels (previously known as Sanyo). 8 panels are on the east facing front aspect, with the remaining 6 panels on the rear south facing roof.

Given the mixed orientation, and shading caused by the chimney, the panels are connected to Enecsys micro-inverters.

Solar panels don't just have to be installed on a house roof. This 4kW solar PV installation was installed on a wood-store, connected to an Eltek 3.8HEt inverter.
